Dr. Judy Cruz-Ransom, born in Philadelphia, PA, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role. With over 40 years of choir involvement, beginning as a member at age 11 and advancing to roles as director and assistant director, Judy has demonstrated a commitment to musical and liturgical service.
Professionally, Ella Judy worked in the District Attorney's Office and the Juvenile Probation Office in Philadelphia. She also served in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for more than 14 years, holding various positions within the Office of Child and Youth Protection, including Deputy Director. Her extensive experience underscores her commitment to protecting and supporting people's well-being.
Currently, Ella Judy is a professor at the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP), where she has written a course on Victimology, and has been an adjunct professor at several institutions, including Temple, Holy Family, and La Salle. Academically, Judy holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from De La Salle University, a master's degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Joseph's University, and a doctorate in Education from Northeastern University. These credentials reflect her dedication to education and her experience assisting those affected by trauma.
Throughout her career, Judy has combined her passion for music, education and community service, making significant contributions to the fields of liturgy and child and youth protection. She currently resides in Perkasie, PA.
